Nanjing is one of four ancient capitals in China. Ten dynasties or regimes took Nanjing as the Capital since the third century, and there are plenty of  culture relics here. This historical day trip will let you explore Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum, Ming Xiaoling Tomb(a UNESCO site), Zhonghua City Gate, and Confucius Temple area.

At 8 am, your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby in centrally located Nanjing hotels with a signage of Viator writing your name. Firstly you will visit Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum. Dr. Sun Yat-sen was the first president of Republic of China. He led the famous Revolution of 1911 and overthrew the Qing Dynasty. He ended China’s more than 2000-year long feudal monarchy and established Republic of China in 1912. His mausoleum was built on the Mt. Zhongshan with the combination of traditional Chinese and classical Western architectural style. You will climb up 392 steps to his tomb where you will view his statue sitting in the hall.
Afterwards you will move to visit Ming Xiaoling Tomb, Ming Tomb in Nanjing and 13 Ming Tombs in Beijing was inscibed on the list of world cultural Heritages by UNESCO in 2003. The Xiaoling tomb is situated at the foot of Purple Mountain to bury the first emperor of Ming Dynasty, Emperor Hongwu, Zhu Yuanzhang. The tomb called Xiaoling because the emperor was said that he was good at administrating the country with his filial affection.
Later you will visit Zhonghua City Gate after lunch. It is the biggest city gate in the world which built in 600 years ago. Then you will contine to visit Confucius Temple,  which was first built in 1034 AD. The area surrounding the Temple is a popular place for social gatherings especially during the Spring, Lantern, and Mid-Autumn Festivals. There are plenty of colorful street vendors selling food and souvenirs. This is also a great area to find bargains on antiques.

This tour will show you the charm of Suzhou's gardens, history and local culture in best way.

In the morning, our guide will pick you up at your hotel in Suzhou downtown or Suzhou train station, you will find a welcome signage. And your tour in Suzhou start.

First stop is Suzhou Museum. It has been a highly-regarded regional museum with a number of significant Chinese cultural relics. The new Suzhou museum designed by world famous architect I.M.Pei with the area of over 10,700 square metres. Not only does the museum become a monumental design building in Suzhou, but also a significant construction, merging the traditional Chinese architectural design with the future.

Next to Suzhou Folk Custom Museum. This museum is a professional museum engaged in collecting and exhibiting the historical relics of the local folk custom with an
emphasis on the display of the folk custom of the ancient city. The building of the museum features the architectural style of the Qing Dynasty.

Lunch will be arranged at a local Chinese restaurant, which serves traditional Suzhou food (Our tour guide will give you best recommendations on spot).

After lunch, continue your tour to Suzhou No.1 Silk Factory. It is a one hundred year old state-owned factory in Suzhou, the silk city in China. It gains a good reputation in China silk for its traditional skills to make silk and the exhibitions of culture and history of silk in China.

Move on to Master of Nets Garden. This garden is the most impressive one because of its use of space which creates the illusion of an area that is much greater than its actual size. The Master of the Nets Garden is a typical Suzhou residential garden, recognized with other classical Suzhou gardens as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The garden demonstrates Chinese garden designers' adept skills for synthesizing art, nature, and architecture to create unique metaphysical masterpieces.

The last stop is Ouyuan Garden. Ouyuan Garden features the most beautiful scenic spots and is laid out appropriately. This garden tells a sad and beautiful love story of Shen
Bingcheng and his wife, thus, in the Garden, everything comes in pairs depicting the couples love for each other.

You'll start the day with the Humble Administrator's Garden, which is the largest private garden in Suzhou. It has been listed as one of the four most famous national classic gardens together with the Summer Palace, Mountain Summer Resort in Chengde and Lingering Garden of Suzhou. The garden consists of Eastern, Central and Western sections as well as some residences of the former owners. The art of the Humble Administrator's Garden has a prominent position in the history of China's garden creation. It represents the historical characteristics and achievements of south-east China's private gardens.

Then head to Panmen Gate, it is a famous historical landmark in Suzhou. It was the only entrance through the wall to ancient Suzhou. The architecture of the wall is truly amazing. It is also known in China for its architecture complex of both land and water city gates. Therefore it is also often called the "Land and Water Gate". The Auspicious Light Pagoda is the oldest Buddhist pagoda in the area, on the top of which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the picturesque Yangtze River Delta.

Continue your tour to Tiger Hill. Tiger Hill is provided with a great many gorgeous scenes, historical sites, numerous towering ancient trees, and a Tiger Hill Pagoda on the top of the hill. You will find lots of historical sites some of which can be traced back over 2500 years to the founding of Suzhou. The Tiger Hill has been known as No. 1 Sight of Suzhou. It is a must for tourists. 

Then visit Shantang Street, it also called Seven-mile Shantang. Owing to its distinguished geographic location and convenient water and land transportation, Shantang Street was one of the streets which trade and culture were most highly developed in Ming and Qing dynasties, regarded as "the No.1 Ancient Street in China". The renovated Shantang Street becomes the place which shows the essence of natural views and human landscapes of Suzhou, which is rated as "the miniature of old Suzhou and the window of Wu culture".

The last stop is Suzhou No.1 Silk Factory. The factory gains a good reputation in the silk industry for its complete technical process of silkworm raising, cocoon sorting, cocoon boiling, and silk reeling, rewinding and packing. Suzhou first silk mill provides magic silk production and fashion show the whole process, so as to prove the Chinese silk glorious history. At the same time, it also describes the history of the development of Chinese silk response which further profound Chinese culture. In this factory you can not only see how the silk is processed from worm to the final product, but also learn some histories of silk in China.

This full-day private tour will lead you to discover this scenic area with an experienced guide, visit Wuyou Temple, Lingshan Busdha, the world tallest copper standing statue of Skyamuni, Nine-Dragon Fountain and Brahma Palace.

In the morning, our local tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in Suzhou or Suzhou train station with a welcome signage. And you will be transferred to Wuxi directly (around 1.5 hour).

Upon arrival, you will visit Lingshan Giant Buddha. The Lingshan Grand Buddha one of the largest, tallest and most representative collections of Buddhism architecture and art in China, which is an 71-meter-high bronze statue of Sakyamuni in the open air, 17 meters higher than the Grand Buddha at Leshan. Lingshan Buddha was built between 713 and 803 (during the Tang Dynasty), depicting Maitreya.

Then move on to Wuyou Temple, located at the South of the Giant Buddha, which visitors pass on the way from the ferry to the Buddha. A pink-walled monastery founded in 742 AD, it has impressive decorations including splendid gate guardians, painted scenes from the Journey to the West (on the second hall) and amusing sculptures of arhats (inside the Louhan Hall). On the other side of the gully on Lingyun Shan, there are signs for Han-dynasty tomb chambers, which suggest this site was sacred before the Buddha was carved.

Continue your tour to Nine-Dragon Fountain, it sit in front of the giant Buddha will startto play the music of trombones and the song of The Birth of Buddha at 10:00 am everyday. Huge lotus' slowly bloom with six petals, and a 7.2-meter gold-gilt prince statue of Buddha rise from the lotus, with one hand pointing to the sky and one hand pointing at the earth, symbolizing Buddha appearing from the blooming flower and Buddha's light shining on all things.

The final sight is Brahma Palace on Lingshan Mountain lasted for two years.Open to public in 2008, its splendid and marvellous design surprised every visitor. The whole palace shows the integration of the traditional cultural elements with western architectural features, embodying the extension, profoundness and loftiness of Buddhism. Many cultural heritage and art works can be found here.
