Jinan Full Day Tour To Mount Tai With Lunch

Jinan Full Day Tour To Mount Tai With Lunch - Shandong, China

Duration: 6 hours
Location: Shandong, China

From USD
$146.92

Drive through the Shandong countryside to Mount Tai.  Take a cable car to Wangfu Peak to start your visit.  Walk along a good path to Jade Emperor Peak.  Descend from Jade Emperor Peak and visit Dai Temple in Taian. Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant.

Your private guide and driver will meet you in the lobby of your Jinan hotel at 08.30 and you will commence your journey to Mount Tai (Tai Shan).

The journey to Tai Shan takes approximately 1.5 hours and passes through the Shandong countryside to the east of Jinan.  On your arrival to the mountain you will take a tourist bus for about 30 minutes up a winding road that passes a large reservoir and the Black Dragon Pool Waterfall to the Half Way Gate to Heaven.  From here you will ride a cable car for about 15 minutes up to the South Gate to Heaven.  After leaving the cable car it is an easy walk up to the Jade Emperor Peak at the top of the mountain via a stone staircase.  Along the way you will walk past the Confucius Temple and enjoy the view all around you.

At over 1,500 metres high, Tai Shan is the first of the Five Sacred Mountains and the word Tai means stability and peace in Chinese.  For many centuries all emperors, upon gaining power, would climb to the top of Tai Shan and make a sacrifice to their ancestors and pray to heaven and earth.  The mountain was listed as a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site in 1987.

During your tour to Jade Emperor Peak you will visit the Jade Emperor Temple with the main hall, Ying Xu Pavilion and several side halls.  In the Jade Emperor Hall you can see the Jade Emperor Statue and the altar of the Heaven Worshipping Ceremony that was used over many centuries.  From the top of the peak there is an outstanding view looking out over Tai Shan.

Descending from the mountain to the north of Tai’an City you will visit the Dai Miao temples at the base of the mountain.  Built during the Han Dynasty, there are around 150 ancient buildings within the Temple complex.  Built in the same style as the Forbidden City in Beijing, the Dai Miao Temple complex was the traditional starting point for the walk to the top of Tai Shan and the place where the ancient emperors would come to worship the deity of Tai Shan.

After your visit to the Dai Miao temples you will return to Jinan city where your tour ends on arrival at your hotel.
